Meet Our Animals

Roxy
We rescued Roxy in November of 2021 at 25 years-old. She was previously used as a roping and pinning horse. Her owner could no longer care for her but wanted to provide a good home for her. We are so thankful she is living out her life here with us and receiving the care an old arthritic horse needs.

Calla
This is our sweet Calla. She was found by city police lying down in someone's yard in September of 2021. She had broken away apparently, since there was a frayed rope around her neck. She was terribly emaciated and on death's door. We are so grateful to have her living out her life here with us, receiving the love and care she deserves.

Cephas
We rescued Cephas in October of 2022 when we learned of a feral donkey who was in need of a home. Cephas was born in a field and not being cared for. So, we are thankful he now has a name and a home.

Katy
Katy is one of the two 4H rescue cows who came to live with us in the Spring of 2023. A childhood friend contacted me asking if I would like to take two show cows in and we were so grateful they will live out their lives here at Dominion Farm Sanctuary.

Nellie
Nellie was given to us by my sister-in-law after her egg production slowed down because she did not want the chickens to be slaughtered. Now she enjoys her spot at the top of the pecking order in the hen house!

Hennifer
Hennifer is one of the girls that we were able to save from a local free-range chicken farm. The farmer who originally owned our four girls was killing them after their egg production slowed, but he allowed us to save these four girls to live out the rest of their lives peacefully with us.

Babette
Babette is one of the girls that we were able to save from a local free-range chicken farm. The farmer who originally owned our four girls was killing them after their egg production slowed, but he allowed us to save these four girls to live out the rest of their lives peacefully with us.
